Challenge

AIHA wanted to broaden its educational reach, so it enlisted Avenue M to better understand what kind of education occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) technicians need so it could respond to them with more relevant educational offerings. 

Solution

AIHA worked with Avenue M to develop a multifaceted research survey, and the project involved reaching out to educational institutions with OEHS or related programs and trade unions and organizations with members who are technicians involved in OEHS or related fields. Based on Avenue M’s extensive research, AIHA is developing a multipronged marketing approach that will introduce OEHS technicians to the group. 

Two of the marketing campaigns will launch at the beginning of 2023 to generate awareness about AIHA and help OEHS professionals broaden their perspectives about how they can further develop as professionals. 

Outcome

“Ultimately we want to lead them to education that we think would benefit them in their jobs,” said AIHA CEO Lawrence Sloan, FASAE, CAE. “The research is going to help us open up new markets for us to generate a new set of customers that will purchase our education.”
