Avenue M Principal, Elena Gerstmann, PhD, FASAE, CAE, gave an IGNITE! talk during the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE) ACCESSE19 on her journey from being an association executive to being a consultant. After she spoke, she and fellow speakers had time to relax and have some fun (not pictured). According to CESSE, attendees of the conference learned how to:

  • add value to membership
  • manage change
  • implement concrete actions to reduce unconscious bias and create a welcoming environment
  • develop methods to create an intentional and flexible workspace for employees
  • increase the sustainability of events

The conference was held in Baltimore, Maryland, from July 23-25, 2019.
